Midweek Service at Central Hall

The Tuesday life group will be holding a short service, on the first Wednesday of the month, at 7pm. The next service will be held on Wednesday 7th February led by Rev’d Mark Rowland

Love Your Church Day

(Lunch Provided) – 3rd February, 10:00am-3:00pm

We spend a lot of time maintaining the facilities of Central Hall, but we don’t often get the chance to make some improvements. On Saturday, 3rd February, we’re inviting everyone connected to our community to come and make positive changes to our building. You will see lists of jobs (displayed on flip charts outside worship today) ranging from painting or cleaning rooms to sitting and cleaning the brass. If you are able to help us in any way, for any length of time, please sign up today. Lunch is provided for all volunteers, so let us know you’re coming!

New Property Stewards!

We are pleased to say that Mark Hawkins and Marcus Patterson have volunteered to share the role of Property Steward and we will bring these names to the Church Council for appointment. Thank you to them both for offering. We would still be grateful for anyone who is happy to help with odd jobs around the church. Please speak to Mark or Elaine.

Giles Morton

Giles has stepped down as a steward but is continuing be part of our PA and screen team. A big thank you to him for all he has done. If you might like to be a new steward, please speak to Elaine or to Mark.

Olive Williams

We were very sorry to hear of Olive’s sudden death last week. As she died so suddenly, the Coroner is involved and it will take time before funeral arrangements can be made. We will share the details as soon as they are available. Please keep her family in your prayers at this sad time.

Cafe Church

The 4th Sunday of the month at 6pm

Come and grab a coffee, and join in with music, readings, and discussion at a cafe style worship service at Central Hall. It’s a new, informal and accessible gathering taking place in Wesley’s at the end of every month for a 3 month trial period from January to March, and we’d love to have your support.

Love Your Church Day

(Lunch Provided) – 3rd February, 10:00am-3:00pm

We spend a lot of time maintaining the facilities of Central Hall, but we don’t often get the chance to make some improvements. On Saturday, 3rd February, we’re inviting everyone connected to our community to come and make positive changes to our building like painting rooms, installing white boards and wall hooks, and doing some deep cleaning that doesn’t normally happen. Even a small act of service as a way of showing your support for Central Hall would go a long way.

If you’re able to contribute between one and four hours improving our church building in February, please find the sign up sheet after the service, email paul@coventrycentralhall.co.uk or ring the office. Lunch is provided for all volunteers, so let us know you’re coming!

Table Cloths

Like many families, all our celebrations here are complete, but now we have finished the last of the mince pies, there is only that daunting pile of washing left, and that is true here at the hall too. Our table cloths have all been washed, but if anyone can help us out by ironing one or two, Marcus will happily give you them. Thank you!

Church Development Leader

The Coventry and Nuneaton Circuit is looking for a Church Development Leader to take a significant leadership role in the life of churches in the circuit. In the first instance, you would be working with Earlsdon and Radford Methodist Churches within the city of Coventry. We are looking for someone who will help churches to engage with their local community and develop sustainable mission strategies.

The Application Pack can be downloaded. This is a two year fixed term appointment with a salary between £21,000 and £27,500 dependent upon qualifications, skills and experience. To apply send a completed application form (in the application pack) to mark@centralhall.info by 15 January 2018. Interviews will take place in Coventry on 25 January 2018. As part of the interview, you will need to give a 15 minute presentation (including the use of powerpoint slides) on how you would lead the development of a mission strategy for a local church. There is a genuine occupational requirement that the postholder be a practising Christian.
